Miss Kylie

Teaching in 2025 Beginner,Novice,

Intermediate,Masters & Open Adults

Open Elite Senior

Hi, I’m Kylie Denham, the Club Principal and President of Port Macquarie Physie and Dance. I’ve been passionate about physie since I was 3 years old and have been with APDA since its inception in 2012. With over 20 years of experience teaching physie, I dedicate my time to helping our ladies group become the best physie dancers they can be.

This year, I’m excited to also be taking on the Open Elite Seniors and can’t wait to work with these talented dancers! I’m truly grateful to be part of such a supportive community, and I look forward to another amazing year of growth, learning, and dancing!

Miss Katelyn

Seniors Teacher

Miss Katelyn has been a physie girl since the age of 2, and has been a dance teacher since the age of 17! From the age of 9 Katelyn was taking jazz, ballet, contemporary, lyrical, hip hop & musical theatre classes alongside her physie classes! After a break from the physie world, she returned back at the age of 21 looking for a place in the dance world for an adult to perform & compete. Miss Katelyn started teaching physie from the age of 22, and has also recently taken on work choreographing audition pieces and performances for dance schools, plus completing her Bachelor of Education in Secondary Performing Arts, Certificate IV in Theatre Production & RAD Ballet Teaching Qualification
Miss Katelyn absolutely loves teaching APDA Physie, watching her students grow from tiny tots, into shy but energetic juniors through to hard working, determined seniors. She loves the lifelong friendships and bonds that she has made through PMPD, and cannot wait to see what 2024 brings for her students!

Miss Lily

Relief Teacher for 2025

Hi, I’m Lily, and I’m excited to be part of the Port Macquarie Physie and Dance team in 2025! With seven years of experience in BJP, I’ve had the pleasure of teaching dancers of all ages, and in 2024, I loved teaching our junior students at Port Macquarie Physie and Dance.

Currently, I’m studying a Bachelor of Education at Charles Sturt University and working as an Out of School Hours educator, which helps me better support and encourage everyone in the APDA community.

There’s nothing more rewarding than seeing the joy and confidence dancing brings to young students. I’m proud to be part of a community where they can express themselves safely and have fun while growing as dancers and individuals. Can’t wait to continue this journey in 2025!

Miss Tony

Tiny Tots Teacher

Hello, I’m Toni Lawes, and I’m excited to be teaching the Tiny Tots in 2025! With 44 years of teaching experience in the NSW Department of Education, I’ve worked across various roles, mostly with children aged 5 to 8, particularly in Kindergarten. I’ve had the pleasure of preparing dance items for school concerts and festivals, which was incredibly rewarding as I saw children grow in skills, confidence, and their love for dance.

As a child, I was part of the Merrylands BJP Club in Sydney, and as an adult, I’ve been involved with both this club and APDA for the past 5 years. I’m looking forward to working with our youngest members in 2025, helping them develop physical skills, personal growth, and lifelong friendships within the physie community!

Miss Lucie

Juniors Years 5,6,7,8 Teacher

Hi, I’m Lucie Barrois! I started BJP in 1997 at the age of 7, took a couple of breaks over the years, and then returned in 2012 when it became APDA. After taking some time off to be a mum, I came back with a bang! Alongside physie, I also trained in ballet, jazz, and contemporary from the age of 12 for about 6 years.

Over the past 3 years, I’ve had the honor of being a National Finalist, placing 4th twice and qualifying for the Grand Champion Lady section. I’m so excited to take on the Junior Teachers role in 2025 and help guide the next generation of dancers. It’s been such a rewarding journey, and I can’t wait to see what the next chapter brings!

Miss Amanda

Juniors Years 9,10,11,12 Teacher

My name is Amanda Davey, and I’ve had the privilege of living a rich and varied journey in the world of dance. 💃✨

I started my dance adventure at a young age with Wauchope Physie before moving on to a new dance school to focus on ballet and jazz. As a teen, I switched to another school to dive into the RAD syllabus and explore other genres, including tap. It was in tap that I truly found my passion! I advanced to an assistant teaching role, helping guide dancers from juniors to adults.

Unfortunately, due to injury, I had to take a break from dancing, but I never lost my love for it. Over the past 10 years, I've returned to Physie as a proud dance mum, fully immersing myself back in the dance community. This has reignited my love for both dance and teaching, and I’m absolutely thrilled to be teaching the 9-12 year-olds in 2025! 🎉

I can’t wait to continue sharing my passion for dance with the next generation and helping them grow in their own unique journeys.

Miss Hannah

Seniors Years 13,14,15,16 Teacher

Intermediate Senior

Hi, I'm Hannah Summers, 21 years old, and I'm excited to be diving into the world of Physie! Though I'm new to Physie, I've been dancing since I was 2, dedicating 15 years to competitive dance, including ballet, tap, and eisteddfods. I’ve had amazing stage experience and even auditioned for the Newcastle Knights Dance Squad in 2022.

Currently, I’m studying a Bachelor of Social Work at university and working as a physiotherapy assistant. My knowledge of anatomy will help me teach Physie with a focus on safe and effective dance practices.

I can't wait to get back into competitive dance and teaching, especially with APDA's diverse styles and professional choreographers. I’m so excited for this next chapter in my dance journey!
